RIBCHESTER ST. WILFRID'S PRIMARY SCHOOL

It’s a brand new term and Wyre have been doing some pretty good front covers and blurbs to encourage others to read their fantastic sci-fi stories they have written in English! To make our front covers and blurbs STAND OUT, we made them link to our theme this term in art-spacey drawings. Additionally we have used ideas from artists that we have been researching to put on our amazing story covers. We also included different art resources like pastels, pencil drawings, water colour and many more! If you want to come to and read and look at our mind-blowing stories and covers, make sure you come into school and take a look.

It’s a new school year and we are covering some amazing topics. Our science this term is none other than… SPACE! We have been researching all about our planets. Who knew that Jupiter had 67 moons, 67 MOONS! I wouldn’t have known if we didn’t do this topic. We have found out about the moon’s rotation and myself and a few others have made some amazing animations to show the phases of the moon on the IPads in Wyre. We also learnt about our rotation around the sun and about different astronomers who have helped to influence ideas about space like Copernicus and Galileo. We have begun to investigate about how shadows move during the day.
