Ofsted quote 2023

Welcome to our School!

At St Wilfrid’s Church of England Primary School, our vision—“Through Jesus, we learn, love and succeed”—is the foundation of all we do. Firmly rooted in our Christian ethos, we are committed to delivering a high-quality, personalised education that recognises and nurtures the unique potential of every child.

Guided by our core values of courage, friendship, perseverance, respect, thankfulness and trust, we create a supportive and aspirational environment where pupils are encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially.

We strive to equip our children with the knowledge, skills, and character to flourish both within school and in the wider world. Through our values and Christ-centred vision, we inspire our pupils to aim high, overcome challenges with resilience, and become confident individuals who are ready to thrive and make a positive contribution to society.

St. Wilfrid's is a Church of England Primary School, located in the historic village of Ribchester, famous for its Roman connections. The school was built in 1859 and has been expanded over the years to serve the residents of the village and the surrounding area. In additions to Ribchester we currently take children from Longridge, Hurst Green, Clayton-le-Dale, Old Langho and Brockhall Village, Blackburn.

St Wilfrid’s is a small, close-knit school at the heart of the local community. Here, every child is known and valued. The older pupils naturally look out for the younger ones, creating a nurturing and supportive environment. This strong sense of care and belonging allows children to thrive—learning, growing, and playing happily together.

This website offers a glimpse into what our school has to offer, but nothing compares to experiencing it in person.
We warmly invite you to visit us—please call to arrange an appointment. I would be delighted and proud to show you around and share what makes our school such a special place.
